HBA Cares and the Penrose-St. Francis Health Foundation are thrilled to announce the completion of the Ingram Guest House project! Guests began arriving on May 20, 2024.
Many of our members are familiar with our partnership with the Penrose-St. Francis Health Foundation, which began with the construction of the original John Zay Guest House in 2008 and its expansion in 2018, spearheaded by project manager George Hess III. Located across from Penrose Hospital, the John Zay Guest House, with its 21 suites, often operates at full capacity and has a waiting list. Recognizing the need for additional accommodations, we initiated the Ingram Guest House at St. Francis, which will support patients and their families at St. Francis Medical Center, including those with babies in the NICU or undergoing cancer treatment. The latest project was led by Builder Captain Josh Peterson, with George Hess serving as Project Advisor, and saw extensive involvement from the HBA Cares Board of Directors and HBA members.
HBA Cares mobilized its members and the community to bring the Ingram Guest House to life, creating a haven for those in need. The Penrose-St. Francis Health Foundation is committed to securing ongoing funding to support both the John Zay Guest House and the Ingram Guest House at St. Francis, ensuring they can continue operating indefinitely. Together, we can offer crucial support to our friends, neighbors, and community members during their most challenging times, providing them with a safe, comfortable home close to St. Francis Hospital.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. Your support makes a profound difference in the lives of those who need it most.
